Collier Top Flight 183

Without question, 183 is one of the most powerful, most complete, most consistent sires we've used, AI or otherwise. Out of probably the most impressive beef female (see females page) we've seen...of any breed...BUF CRK Melva 3933 (a daughter of whom is a top donor in the SEM Red Angus herd), 183 is Lchmn Above Heaven's stand-alone, best son. We are convinced he is unmatched in the Red Angus breed. He is the sire of many of the impressive breeding bulls on this site.

Mid-Am Uptrend MFIN P14

One of the most impressive young sires in the Red Angus breed today. He boasts an impressive pedigree in addition to a faultless phenotype. We selected P14 from the entire powerful offering at the Mid-America Bull Sale. We initially chose him by virtue of his thickness, design, pedigree and on-test performance, but after he scanned with the largest adjusted REA of all the yearling bulls on test, we were convinced that P14 could be great. Though barely known or promoted (yet), Uptrend P14 is turning heads. We anticipate great things from this young sire.

-Owned with Wedel Red Angus, KS, and Leland Red Angus, MT.

Andras Pure Gold 132

Andras Pure Gold is a very powerful son of the top producing 5803 (see females page). 132 was named Bull Calf Champion at the 2001 NAILE in Louisville. Beckton Red Angus purchased him in the Spring of 2002 for a new herd sire. In their 2004 Spring bull sale, Pure Gold sired bulls were among the top performers and were well-received. Cam Forbes said they kept one of his sons back to use, but was concerned that this particular son may be "too powerful" for their program...quite a testimony to this bull's true breeding and performance potential.

Basin Hobo 649M

THERE IS ONLY ONE! (And you're looking at him!)
The Red Angus breed has exploded in popularity and risen to occupy the slot of the 5th largest breed in America. In this rapidly expanding breed of cattle, ONLY ONE BULL rises to the very top. Only one. When selecting a herdsire, perhaps the most difficult criteria in selection is attempting to balance antagonistic traits. Often, one is forced to give up one of his desired traits for another, that he deems the more essential. This is unfortunate, but a reality nonetheless. That is, of course, until Basin Hobo 649M. A sire search on the Red Angus Association website of the following criteria (note the number of antagonistic traits represented) reveals not 50 bulls, not 10 bulls, not 5 bulls, but ONLY ONE BULL. Searching the entire Red Angus breed for a bull that meets the following stringent genetic criteria...

  • Less than -2 for BW EPD
  • Greater than 45 for WW EPD
  • Greater than 80 for YW EPD
  • Greater than 20 for Milk EPD
  • Less than 3 for ME EPD
  • Greater than 11 for CED EPD
  • Greater than 0.25 for MARB EPD

...will only lead you to just ONE BULL, Basin Hobo 649M. We stand confident that demand for 649M progeny is poised to intensify. Please note, 649M is a black/ red carrier. Genetically, bred to red cows, one should expect 50% of the calves to be black (though we currently see about 2:1 (Red:Black, respectively) from our experience with black/red carriers used on red cows). Should a cow bred to 649M have a black calf, it can be registered as 100% Red Angus, category 2. - Owned with Basin Reds, MT.

Andras Energizer 2222

Not just another outcross bull...2222 is THE outcross bull. Stacking the Premier Blackcap 6276 (donor and maternal granddam to Twin Valley Precision E161) three times and on both sides of his flawless pedigree. In fact, his maternal grandsire is a full brother to the dam of E161. Energizer 2222 is the genetic goldmine for which the Red Angus breed has been searching. 2222 is poised to be the next great bull of our breed. Owned with Basin Reds, Hobson, MT.

Blast Off 321

An own son of the powerful Top Flight 183. If a photo is worth a thousand words, we wonder the number of a first-hand inspection of this tremendous individual. Stout, long, deep, thick and sound would be a good start to that list of descriptions. We doubt that there is a popular AI sire that could compare with either 321 or his sire. Blast Off sired two of our extreme top-end bulls from our 2003 calf crop. One of these bulls is working at Dowden Farms, IN and the other at Two Oaks Red Angus, IA.

WCC Checkmate J28

Yes, your eyes are seeing correctly, this is a black bull. We purchased J28 (sire of Energizer 2222) because he carries a red gene, he has a uniquely potent Angus pedigree, and because he is an extremely powerful bull. An own grandson of Premier Blackcap 6276 (maternal granddam to Twin Valley Precision E161), this Woodhill Checkmate son was the top performing bull among his flushmates at Wilson Cattle Company. J28 is big-hipped, long and thick, not to mention, sound as a cat. Another feather in his cap, the highest ADG individual in the Michigan Bull Test this year was a J28 son!! We are hoping this powerhouse will produce more Red Angus cattle the likes of Energizer 2222.

Andras Traveler 297

Another truly powerful outcross bull of untapped potential. 297 is an own son of maternal powerhouse, Hyline Travel Agent, marketed through Bovine-Elite semen sales. Our calves from 297 are not
only exceeding our expectations, but most are out-performing their AI-sired contemporaries. The first 297 daughters are ready to calve and are phenomenal. They are deep, thick, correct, moderate and have beautiful udder development. We are on the edge of our seat, anxious to see the long-term impact of such an impressive, young, fresh pedigreed sire.

Andras Top Flight 396

One of the truly stout young bulls in the entire Red Angus breed. Dark cherry-red, deep, thick, square and sound, 396 is difficult to match for raw bull power. His dam is one of the most powerful females on foot--deep bodied, thick, sound with the picture perfect, flawless udder. He is yet another masterpiece, sired by the great Collier Top Flight 183 (Top Flight 183's dam is featured on the "Females/Donors" page). Semen is available on this young sire and two different semen companies have asked to feature 396 in their catalogs. You can order semen on 396 ( $15/unit, $35/certificate, or $12/unit if 25 or more units are purchased at once ) right here by clicking "contact us" and typing your order in the "comments" box. We feel 396 is the breed-impact kind that will make his mark on the breed.
